M&M Experiment. Science Fun For Kids.

Now, it does not matter what age we are, a Scientific experiment is fun for anyone. Am I right or am I right? There's nothing more exciting than watching something happen right before you're very eyes that you perhaps though couldn't happen. It's thrilling and intriguing. And, it would appear that even at the age of 3, the World of Science is as exciting as it is to a High School kid.

You may have seen this experiment conducted already by the lovely Dad over at 'Dadlab' (The guy is a genius). And, it was there that I first saw it and thought I must show my Son this. So, full credit goes out to that Pappa. I am not claiming to have created this experiment, no siree. But, I am sharing with you our experience of this Scientific fun and am going to give you the tools to crack on and do it yourself at home.

You will need:
  • M&M's. Now, that's the Momma Moose way ;-) But, I hear skittles are darn good too. Probably better infact. But, we were skittle-less so made do with M&M's.
  • A plate that is a little dipped in the centre. That way water can sit in it easy but not drown the sweet.
  • A cup or something to pour water easily from.
  • Water
What you need to do:
  • Create a circle of sweets around your dish, leaving a little gap in between each sweet.
  • Pour in a little water. Just enough for the sweeties to sit in.
  • Sit back and watch the magic happen.

Excuse the awful video above. My editing skills aren't up to much cop. But, you get the idea at just how magical and engaging for a littlie this experiment is. Plus, it's super simple and super cheap to achieve. And, the rainbow stays in the dish for a fair few hours. This was pretty cool for us because it meant that Mini-Moose got to show his Daddy. :-)

Have fun creating your own sweetie rainbows guys.

Please allow me to introduce my 2nd Son born last Friday, 30th September at 6.48am just while the sun rose over Telford.
He is lovely in every way and is loved very much by his Family.
This is a short post. But, I just had to introduce him to the World.
Get ready for our adventures as a Family of 5!
